EBOLA TRAVEL BANS BY COUNTRY, MEDICAL & DENTAL TOURISM INFO - Update April 2016

Ebola is Frightening

But it's not the end-of-the-world as some would have us believe.

UPDATE: As of April 2016 - West Africa is nearly Ebola free. Again, Again as it keeps rearing its ugly head like a whack-a-mole. But overall - the near eradication of Ebola is one of the successes of the World Health Org.

Today medical and dental tourism patients bound for popular health care travel destinations such as Mexico, Thailand and the Philippines can expect a little extra health screenings on arrivals from some countries but that will soon become the norm everywhere. And not only because of ebola but because of the many other viral threats such as MERS  that will continue to appear over time.

EBOLA - A NIGHTMARE FOR MEDICAL AND DENTAL TOURISM

The virus Ebola is the most deadly thing to come along since the swine flu in 2009 and the Asian bird flu or SARS. The first  swine flu influenza pandemic occurred in 1918 and killed an approximate 50-100 million worldwide. The virus reappears often but is not nearly as deadly as ebola. The more recent swine flu was responsible for 1,000,s but not millions of deaths.
Ebola arrives at a time when people travel more often and with the virus itself being more communicable than the swine flu of 2009 there is a potential recipe for disaster.
